Municipal Planning Development Planning Special Projects
  • We began working with EcoVue Consulting in 2008. Initially the firm was retained to provide planning evidence for an Ontario Municipal Board Hearing regarding the impact of the new Official Plan for the Township of Scugog on a waterfront development property near Port Perry.  EcoVue’s Senior Planner provided us with sound planning advice throughout the project.  Since that time EcoVue has continued to work with us in the development of an 11 lot plan of subdivision on the property, including filing of an Official Plan amendment and Zoning By-law amendment.

  • EcoVue’s planners are definitely team players and we are now working with them on two other projects in Durham Region. EcoVue Consulting Services was hired as the Township’s planning Consultants in 2007. The firm provided excellent planning advice to our municipality on a wide variety of projects including the development of the new Canadian Tire store in Minden, a recreational condominium development on South Lake and a number of site specific applications. Heather and Kent provided on-site planning services for about eight months after the previous Planning Administrator retired. They were always approachable and had the best interests of our community in mind at all times.

  • EcoVue has been the planners for Lally Homes since 2007. Their knowledge and professionalism is top notch and they have represented us well in several projects since that time. They are currently working on the planning permissions for the conversion of an old public school and grounds in the village of Bancroft to a much needed age-in-place condominium for seniors. They know what is required in terms of studies and reports to get our developments approved. Their team works hard and is great to work with.

  • EcoVue was recommended to me when we ran into trouble with rezoning a property which I own in Bobcaygeon. EcoVue met with the City staff on several occasions & were able to isolate and then address the various issues which the City seemed to be having with my application. They always took the time to explain the issues to me & kept me informed on the progress of my application. They were successful in getting the rezoning approved by Council on time & on budget.

  • Janel and I just wanted to thank you for the great effort in presenting our case for appeal on the 25th. Very professional and well presented. The neighbors attending were also impressed regarding the professionalism in light of the opposing counsel’s repeated attempts to discredit our case (and Kent unfortunately). We are hoping for the best on the decision.

  • EcoVue is our go-to planning firm for planning advice on rural properties in this area. We recommend them to clients who are looking at development options, big and small. We believe that it is important for people to do their due diligence on these types of properties before they purchase and EcoVue provides excellent advice. They have helped to identify both opportunities and issues for our clients. EcoVue has helped several property owners to gain the planning approvals from the City of Kawartha Lakes, where they are well known and well-respected by City staff and Council.

  • When we purchased a property in the village of Fenelon Falls to develop Lock 34 Condominiums (one of our Granite Condominium developments), EcoVue came highly recommended. We faced a number of challenges in gaining approvals for this project, but EcoVue was able to facilitate the approvals process because of their excellent understanding of the municipality’s requirements, as well as provincial planning rules. They put together an excellent project team (including the traffic consultant, archaeologist, and engineers). We were on a tight time line and they were successful in getting us the planning permissions we required (Official Plan, Plan of Condominium and Site Plan Approval). Our project is now under construction and will be open soon.
