Nolan Drumm , B.A., B.URPl Planner

Nolan Drumm joined EcoVue as a Planner in 2017, focussing on rural planning and development. He offers his skills in quantitative analysis and real estate development to complement his background in planning. Since joining EcoVue, he has worked on a variety of projects for clients in the private sector, submitting various Planning Act applications on behalf of clients and acting as a project manager.

Prior to joining EcoVue, Nolan was a Senior Analyst with Altus Group Economic Consulting where he primarily conducted reviews of development charge background studies and by-laws, economic impact studies and feasibility analyses for private and public sector clients.

Nolan earned his Bachelor of Arts from Acadia University with a concentration in Economics and received his Post-Baccalaureate in Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson University. While at Ryerson University, his group won the IBI Award for excellence in professional practice for a study on utilizing the co-housing model as an alternative for seniors housing. He presented the findings from this study at the national conference for the Canadian Institute of Planners in 2014.

Nolan is an Associate Member of the Urban Land Institute and a Candidate Member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners.

Sean Yilmaz, B.URPI, LEED Green Associate., Planner

Sean Yilmaz joined EcoVue as a Planner in 2016, offering skills in land use and development planning to complement his background in sustainable development. Sean is a graduate of Ryerson University's Urban and Regional Planning program, holding a Post Baccalaureate Degree, in addition to a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Trent University's Environmental and Resource Studies program. Sean works on various projects for clients in the private sector.

To date, these include the coordination of large-scale development projects including the management of sub consultants and technical studies. Sean also prepares Planning Act applications, Planning Justification Reports and First Nation and Community Consultation packages.

Sean is an accredited LEED Green Associate and pre-candidate member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute, and is working towards obtaining full membership.

Ken Hurford, MCIP, RPP, AMCTO Sr. Planner

Ken Hurford joined the EcoVue team in September of 2015. Prior to joining EcoVue, Ken was Manager of Planning at the Municipality of Brighton for 12 years and before that was a Senior Planner in the Cobourg office of Totten Sims Hubicki Associates (TSH) for 16 years. Overall, Ken has about 30 years of planning experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Trent University, a Supervisory Studies Certificate from the Ontario Management Development Program and a Municipal Management Certificate from Loyalist College. Ken is a Full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute. He is a Registered Professional Planner in the Province of Ontario. Ken is also a member of the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario.


Ken has worked extensively on a range of planning applications in his career - often as a reviewer on behalf of a municipality or as the representative of an applicant. He has assisted numerous municipalities with updating local official plans and zoning by-laws.

Alexander (Sandy) Wakeling, Survey Technician

Sandy is a graduate of Sheridan College, Community Planning (1981) and has joined EcoVue as our in-house surveyor. He has been employed by Municipal Government and Land Surveying and Engineering and Planning Consultants offices in Alberta, New Brunswick and Ontario.

Sandy’s primary function at EcoVue is undertaking topographic surveys and drafting of base plans for Pre Development. He also provides onsite inspection services and design capabilities. His knowledge of the land development process has given him the skills necessary to undertake a wide range of surveys and prepare the associated plans for, Site Plans, Pre Engineering, Stormwater and Flood Lines.

Sandy is a registered (Associate) member of Ontario Association of Certified Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) in good standing since 2010.

Roy L. Haig, C.E.T., Sr. Engineering Technologist

Roy Haig joined EcoVue as their Senior Engineering Technologist in June, 2015. He is a graduate of the Peterborough Campus of Sir Sanford Fleming College (1971) and comes to the firm after retiring from the Engineering Department of an upper tier municipality.  Prior to his term with the municipality, he worked with a local consulting engineering firm for 30 years.

As a registered member of the Ontario Association of Certified Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) Roy provides a wide range of civil engineering experience for planning projects with engineering components.  He will focus on projects that include sewage system design, site grading plans, aggregate resource licensing, commercial entrance design and municipal/private road design.

Roy’s addition to the EcoVue team gives the planning staff a technical resource that allows them to respond quickly to the engineering facets of their projects.

Ruth Tregenza, B.E.S. Planner

Ruth Tregenza (Planner) joined EcoVue in August, 2015. She is a graduate of the University of Waterloo's School of Planning and received a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Honours) with a specialization in Urban Design. Through previous positions as a planning research assistant and municipal GIS assistant, Ruth has developed strong skills in analysis, mapping and design. She utilizes GIS software such as ArcMap and AutoCAD to assist in drawing and figure creation. Ruth is also experienced in drafting Planning Justification Reports, consolidating official plans and zoning by-laws, and submitting Planning Act applications.

Ruth is a pre-candidate member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners, and is working towards obtaining full membership.

Heather Sadler, B.A., M.A., MCIP, RPP Principal/Sr. Planner

Peter Josephs, B.Sc., M.PL., MCIP, RPP

Peter Josephs joined the EcoVue team in October of 2014 when his planning consulting firm - Peter A. Josephs and Associates (PAJA) - was acquired by EcoVue. Peter operated PAJA for nearly 20 years, providing planning consulting services to a number of municipalities and private clients. Prior to PAJA, Peter worked at the Ministry of Natural Resources as a lands planner. Overall, Peter has more than thirty four (34) years of planning experience. He holds a Masters degree from the School of Urban and Regional Planning at Queen’s University and is a Full Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute. He is a Registered Professional Planner in the Province of Ontario.

Peter has worked extensively on myriad planning applications in his career - both as the representative of an applicant, and as a reviewer on behalf of the municipality. He has assisted with updating many local official plans and zoning by-laws, as well as creating new policies for municipalities that reflect the ever-changing Provincial land use planning landscape.

Peggy Murphy, C. Tech. Senior Design Technologist

As a Senior Designer at EcoVue, Peggy Murphy specializes in cartography and the design and management of mapping databases. She has experience setting up and maintaining geodatabases, processing spatial data, and creating numerous types of maps and plans to represent data as accurately as possible and to communicate its intended purpose.

Peggy is highly recognized for her excellent skills in the design and production of Official Plan, Secondary Plan and Zoning By-law Schedules for municipalities, as well as subdivision concept plans, draft plans of subdivision and condominium, property and roadway design layouts and site plans and thematic maps. She creates maps which aid in the decision-making process of land management and development planning and takes part in developing project-specific databases used for feasibility studies, impact assessments and constraint identification.

Peggy uses AutoCAD Map 3D and ArcView to prepare her drawings, accessing spatial data through the Land Information Ontario data base.

Kent Randall, MCIP, RPP, AMCTO Sr. Planner

Kent is an Senior Planner at EcoVue, specializing in rural planning and development. He graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Planning in 2008 with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (B.E.S.). Since joining the firm in 2009, he has developed excellent skills in policy development, land use analysis, effective community consultation and project management. Kent is currently the planner of record for the Township of Brock and the Village of Burk's Falls.

He is Project Planner for many projects for private clients, in municipalities from Dufferin County and Simcoe County in the west, to the Region of Durham and the County of Northumberland to the south, the County of Haliburton to the north and the County of Hastings to the east, as well as the City of Kawartha Lakes, and the County and City of Peterborough. He oversees the work of EcoVue's Planners.

Kent is a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP).

Michelle Newman, Administrative Assistant

Michelle Newman provides EcoVue with administrative functions. Michelle brings over 25 years of experience to this role. A “Jill of all Trades”, Michelle looks after all tasks related to managing the office and bookkeeping. She brings a friendly and professional demeanor and loves to help wherever needed.
